What is Nick Candy’s Net Worth?

Nick Candy has a net worth of $2 billion and is a British luxury home developer and interior designer. Nick made his money as a co-owner of Candy & Candy, a property development and design firm founded by his brother Christian Candy. The brothers are most known for creating One Hyde Park, a super-luxury apartment complex in London that is one of the most expensive residential developments in the world. After Nick became the sole owner of the firm in 2018, it was renamed Candy Properties.

Who is Nick Candy?

On January 23, 1973, Nicholas Anthony Christopher Candy was born. Christian Candy, his younger brother, is a year older than him. Nick and Christian both went to Prior Preparatory School before enrolling at Epsom College. Nick eventually graduated from the University of Redding with a degree in Human Geography, while Christian dropped out of King’s College London’s business management programme.

Business Career

Candy & Candy was founded by the brothers in the mid-1990s as a property development and remodelling firm. The first home they purchased was a little flat in London for 122,000 pounds. After purchasing the home, they had no money left over for renovations, so they had to borrow 6,000 pounds from their grandmother to finish the flip. They really lived in the flat while working full-time and doing renovations in their spare time. Christian worked at Merrill Lynch, while Nick worked at an advertising agency.

They sold the home for 172,000 pounds eighteen months later.

While working typical day jobs, they continued to renovate little flats in their spare time. After a few triumphs, they were able to quit their day jobs and pursue real estate development full-time.

Candy & Candy progressed up the property development ladder throughout time, and is currently best recognised for developing highly high-profile, high-end real estate in London.

Notable Developments:

One Hyde Park

In 2005, the brothers spent 150 million pounds for a house in London’s Knightsbridge district using funds provided by Qatar’s Prime Minister. They collaborated on the development of One Hyde Park with architect Richard Rogers. The project was finished in 2011.
One Hyde Park has 86 residential units and is home to some of the world’s wealthiest people. The typical price of a unit is $25-30 million, with penthouse apartments fetching significantly more. Rinat Akhmetov, a Ukrainian billionaire, paid $213 million for his penthouse at One Hyde Park in 2011. After that, he spent an extra $140 million on upgrades.

Fitzroy Place

The brothers paid 175 million pounds in 2006 to purchase the old Middlesex Hospital in London’s Fitzrovia neighbourhood. Originally, the development was to be known as NoHo Square, but it was later renamed Fitzroy Place. The facility now has 220,000 square feet of business space and 289 residential units.

Chelsea Barracks

The Chelsea Barracks site was purchased by the brothers in 2007. They spent 959 million pounds for the property, according to reports, with the help of the Qatari government’s investment corporation.

9900 Wilshire

The brothers paid 250 million pounds for the former Robinson’s-May department store property in Beverly Hills, California, in 2007.

Personal Life

Nick married Holly Valance, an Australian-British singer and actor, in 2012. The couple welcomed a baby girl, Luka Violet Toni Candy, in November 2013, and told the press they would call her Lulu. Toni Candy was given to the newborn girl as a middle name in honour of Nick’s father, Tony Candy, who died just weeks before the baby’s birth. In September 2017, they had their second child, a girl called Nova Skye Coco.
