1 – Taron Johnson comes up clutch

With two quarterback takedowns on Kansas City’s final three possessions, All-Pro Von Miller accomplished what he was hired to do for the Bills. However, nickel corner Taron Johnson has also produced a couple huge plays during his tenure with the team.

With 1:04 left and the Chiefs holding two timeouts, it was up to the defence to keep the lead after the Bills offence had placed them up 24-20. Kansas City received a new first-and-10 at their 30 after a defensive holding call on 1st-and-10 at their own 25.

Miller pushed Patrick Mahomes to his right, while Matt Milano triggered from his underneath coverage position to narrow the throwing lane’s breadth. Skyy Moore, a rookie wide receiver, was moving across the field from left to right as Mahomes attempted to throw a sidearm ball to her.

With 56 seconds remaining, Taron Johnson peeked into Mahomes’ backfield, ripped off his coverage on JuJu Smith-Schuster, and jumped Moore’s route to make a leaping interception at the Chiefs’ 32-yard line. At the most crucial moment in the game, it was an entirely intuitive play.

Johnson read the situation properly as we were playing zone, according to Jordan Poyer. “I praised it as one of the best plays I had ever witnessed. That was an absolutely incredible play for our squad given the circumstance and the time.”

With regard to Johnson’s outstanding play, head coach Sean McDermott noted, “You’ve got to trust your instincts.” “Before the game, we briefly discussed it. These players train all week. They put in a lot of effort, so that’s when we need to trust our instincts and let things flow. Embrace your gut feeling.”

As a result, Johnson earned his first interception of the year and seventh overall. The Buffalo offence entered the game and finished the remaining time to secure the four-point victory. It’s no longer a surprise to Johnson’s teammates after they seen him return a 51-yard interception for a score on Sunday Night Football and a 101-yard interception for a touchdown in the playoffs.

We all trust Taron since he’s been around the system for a while, said Poyer. “Everyone is aware that he will go out there and make plays. Today, hardly one performed flawlessly, and the mantra was constantly, “Next play, next play, next play.” Furthermore, at the end of the day, He devised the game’s most important play, which helped us triumph.

Stefon Diggs remarked, “Taron Johnson is a hell of a player. I see him over the week as he diligently practises his skill. You may rely on that person to be at the appropriate location at the appropriate time. I’m Miss Cleo clearly since I already informed him earlier in the week that he would get (an interception).

2 – Allen-Diggs deliver in crunch time

After failing to put the ball in scoring position on their first two fourth-quarter opportunities, Buffalo’s passing game turned to their most dependable combo. It was time for the Bills’ two most productive players to take control of the game as they faced a 4th-and-1 situation at their own 33-yard line.

To gain a new set of downs, Allen snuck two yards up the middle. The following seven plays all had Allen either maintaining the ball and moving forward with his legs or completing passes to Diggs to generate first downs.

Allen of Diggs stated, “Yeah, just trusting him, just trying to move him about and get him in different positions. “On defence, the Chiefs did a terrific job of mixing up their calls. But when you reach that stage of the game, you must have faith in the companions you rock with. And he has a purpose for being who he is. He puts forth a lot of effort and acts morally. For that, we adore him. However, 11 men were needed on that field.”

Allen connected with Diggs for a five-yard pass on the play that followed the fourth down convert. After that, he sprinted for a three-yard gain to set up a third-and-two at the Buffalo 43. In order to stop the clock, Allen dropped back and searched for Diggs, who returned to the ball for a very simple 11-yard catch.

With two minutes left, Diggs caught Allen’s ball on second-and-10 at the Kansas City 28 for an 18-yard gain and another first down after Allen had previously attempted an incomplete pass to him.

It is one thing for a quarterback to claim that he has complete faith in a receiver. However, Allen put that conviction into practise, and Diggs finds it calming.

Diggs stated of his quarterback’s confidence in him, “It actually gives me a level of comfort just because I put a lot of effort in as far as my craft and what I’m trying to achieve not just for the team, but for myself.” “I’m pushing myself, challenging myself, and you want the game to be against you at such times. Your quarterback needs to believe in you. Therefore, it genuinely comforts me and shifts my mental focus to the idea that I am here for a reason. I’m in this area for a reason, and he’s counting on me and I’m ready.”

“We see it every single game, every quarter,” said Dawson Knox of the Allen and Diggs combination. “Those two making plays where it’s almost not surprising at this point. I mean, they make incredible plays every game, but we’re so used to it now, it’s like, ‘Oh there’s Josh and Stef making another incredible play.’ And you know Josh hurdling people yet again. It scares me. It works so yeah… it’s fun being teammates with those guys.”

After that, with Mitch Morse running traffic in front of him, Allen took the ball on a first-and-10 situation and made a planned run on a sweep out to the right. After gaining 16 yards to the Chiefs’ 12-yard line, Buffalo’s signal caller vaulted over safety Deon Bush and ran out of bounds. The Bills faced a 2nd-and-12 situation at the Kansas City 14 after he suffered a two-yard loss on an inside carry.

Everyone in the stadium thought Diggs would receive the ball. The Chiefs did the same thing because he attracted additional attention on the underneath option route, which allowed Dawson Knox to outperform one-on-one coverage on a corner route. Allen’s perfect dart and his well-timed route gave Buffalo the lead points.necessary for victory.

When referring to the Allen and Diggs combo, Dawson Knox remarked, “We see that every single game, every quarter.” “Those two are making plays that are now hardly shocking. Even though they consistently make spectacular plays, we have grown accustomed to them to the point that we don’t even notice when Josh and Stef are doing it anymore. And you are aware that Josh is still shoving people. It terrifies me. It works, so definitely… having those people as colleagues is enjoyable.”

Diggs completed the contest as the top receiver with 10 grabs for 148 yards and a score, while Allen finished with 361 yards of total offense—including three touchdown passes—on the ground and in the air.

After Sunday’s triumph, the Bills will find it much simpler to unwind their bodies and minds during the bye week. Due to their 5-1 record, the Bills now lead the AFC conference standings. Buffalo is the only AFC team that has five victories after six weeks of play.

Although the players are well aware that there are still 11 regular season games still to play, this is about as strong a start as they could have had before the bye week.

Regarding Buffalo’s position at the top of the AFC, Dawson Knox commented, “I honestly didn’t even know that until today.” Obviously, being in charge of the conference is fantastic, but we’ll just enjoy it for a day before moving on to the next one.

There is a lot that can happen between now and when I complete my 12th season in the NFL, said Von Miller. “But I’ll tell you what, tonight we’re going to celebrate this one. We’ve got a bye week coming up. We’ll debrief and see some of the things that we did well so far this season and some of the things that we didn’t do so well, and you’re ready for a really good Green Bay after the bye,” said the coach.

“Coach McDermott puts the bar at playoff calibre, and that’s all we’re aiming for. In the NFL, every game is important “Josh Allen remarked. “It makes no difference if you are against a 4-1 or 1-4 squad. When you’re on the field, any team may win on a given Sunday, Monday, or Thursday. There is a reason why these men play professional football. Nobody is bad. So yes, we’re back to the next one. We need to concentrate on the upcoming week.”

It is impossible to predict who will capture the top playoff seed in the AFC and home field advantage in the postseason at this point in the season, but this victory might play a significant role in that outcome.

We are aware of the value of a playoff home game, Knox added. “It’s a tribute to their Kansas City followers. They have a fantastic home field advantage. They are so loud as well that we had to stop counting. Communication is extremely tough, which adds a whole other degree of difficulty, but we are aware that it is far more difficult in Buffalo. Therefore, we intend to make every effort to host playoff games at home.”
